SPECIAL NEWS RELEASE
On Thursday, November 8, 2007, the Old Saybrook Police Department will be hosting the Citizen’s Police Academy. Classes will begin at 7pm at police headquarters and end at 9pm. The classes will be taught by officers of the department and will include such topics as; An orientation & history of policing in America and Old Saybrook, Hiring Practices, Field Training, Arrest Procedures, Criminal Investigations, Patrol Division, Police K-9 Program, Motor Vehicle Enforcement & Accident Investigation, Youth Programs, and, Shoot, Don’t Shoot.
Registration forms can be picked up at police headquarters. There is a $10 fee which will be collected the first session will help defray costs for refreshments. Space is very limited and preference will be given to town residents & taxpayers, but all are encouraged to apply.
