Sealed bids for the above mentioned items will be received by the Old Saybrook Department of Police Services, Office of the Chief of Police, 225 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475 until, but no later that 4:30 PM, Monday, May 19, 2008.
At that time they will be publicly opened, read and recorded. The envelope enclosing the bid should be marked as to the bid items, time and date of bid opening.
The Town of Old Saybrook, Department of Police Services reserves the right to reject or to accept any or all, or part of any bid if such action is deemed to be in the best interest of the Department.
The omission of any item or specification from the attached bid request will be deemed as failure to perform in the best interest of the Old Saybrook Department of Police Services.
INFORMATION TO BIDDERS
The purpose of this bid is to obtain vehicles which are acceptable for police patrol operations. Bid awards will be made on the basis of price, delivery and the equipment best suited to the needs of the Old Saybrook Department of Police Services.
Delivery date of accepted vehicles shall be no earlier than July 1, 2008.
This bid request is for planning purposes as well as for the purchase of said vehicles for the 2008-2009 budget year. Purchase authorization for the vehicles will be made only at such time that an acceptable budget has been approved for the Town of Old Saybrook.
The number of vehicles requested in this bid may be reduced prior to purchase authorization.
TRADE-IN VEHICLE
(1) 2000 Ford Crown Victoria
The above listed vehicle is being offered for trade upon vehicles to be purchased by the Town of Old Saybrook, Department of Police Services. The responsibility remains with the bidder to inspect this vehicle and to determine the trade-in value.
The vehicle may be seen at the Old Saybrook Department of Police Services, 225 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday by appointment.

SERVICE REQUIREMENTS:
All required emergency service, which is required during normal working hours, shall be performed on a priority basis as directed. All files will be subject to review by the Old Saybrook Department of Police Services every 90 days.
Unless herein stated, it is understood that wherever any options or special equipment is listed, the bid price shall include and installation charges.
ADHERENCE TO SPECIFICATIONS:
If it is necessary to bid alternate equipment or to take exceptions to the specifications as set forth, these exceptions must be identified in the submitted bid. Failure to list exceptions or alternates may disqualify the bidder from consideration of the award of the bid. Every exception or alternate will be carefully considered and the final bid will be awarded in the best interest of the Town of Old Saybrook and the Old Saybrook Department of Police Services.
